Lots going on right now. I have just returned from my trip through the Rockies and am now safe in Vancouver once again. I rode at Sunshine Village, Fernie, and Revelstoke last week and all three mountains were new to me and unreal. I’ll be working on a corresponding piece over the next few days and it should be online this week.
March Madness is in full swing and has provided the usual upsets. However, Butler and VCU meeting in the Final Four and thus guaranteeing a second straight year with a mid major team in the final is huge. It should be a classic underdog matchup as the other semifinal features UConn and Kentucky, two historic programs. I’ve missed a lot of the tournament live due to my recent road trip but there really isn’t a better event in all of sports than the NCAA Men’s Basketball tournament. The recent spike in parity over the past few years has just made the spectacle even better.
Canada will go to the polls on May 2. It will be very interesting to see how the allocation of power changes in this election as there doesn’t seem to be much significant change in public opinion since the last election. The Conservatives are expected to maintain a minority government. Barring any major surprises in the campaign season Steven Harper will keep his job, even in the face of his government being found in contempt of Parliament. I really wish there were a major issue to vote on here as this seems poised to be a wasted election.
Just a quick update this week as I’m focussing on creating some new content to go up as my postings have been rather sparse these past weeks.
Now listen to this!
