Dyl`s Playlist 04/21/2011

What up music lovers, time for another edition of the playlist.

First up, check this funky take on Jay-z’s “99 Problems”.  While the two songs sound nothing alike and some lyrics have been altered for the new version Hova’s mantra on female-related issues still inspires.

Fleet Foxes is a folk/indie band from the Washington State area.  Foxes offer a real nice sound and lead singer Robin Pecknold’s voice is haunting.  This single, “Helplessness Blues” is the first track off of their upcoming album of the same name.

The Pains of Being Pure at Heart made a big splash in the indie scene with their eponymous debut album released in 2009.  Belong is the follow-up to that and is just as moving if not more so than their first album.  Here is the title track.

Two Door Cinema Club is a fun medley of indie and electronic that comes together to form a great sound.  This track, `What You Know` is my favorite off of their 2010 album Tourist History and makes me wonder what I`ve been doing since 2010.

And finally, this week`s edition of Your New Favorite Song is the first track from TV on the Radio`s recent release Nine Types of Light.  I`m just starting to dig into this album but I`m seriously enjoying it.  The debut release is `Will Do`and I just freaking love it and it`s equally intriguing video.

Till next time!
