I always like to look at the terms people use in search engines that eventually lead them through the matrix to my blog. I think it’s important to monitor this to know what people are consistently searching for and finding on my blog so that I can tailor my content to engage them more. There are certainly some strange terms in the list and of course some expected ones (DylanRayburn.com and my name were on the list).
Top 3:
49 – ‘wnba sucks’ – Unfortunately this topic has been well covered and any further effort towards it is thoroughly redundant. (‘the wnba sucks’ and ‘wnba suck’ each had an additional four queries)
38 – ‘dylan rayburn’ – Naturally my name is here, but it was still nowhere close to all of the permutations of ‘wnba sucks’.
33 – ‘count chocula‘ – Nice to know children under 10 and basement-dwelling losers are finding my blog.
Strange ones:
‘fuck bctf’ – My thoughts exactly.
‘cc sabbathia fat’ – 7 searches for this pedestrian observation.
‘mat kearney sucks‘ – ‘reebok hockey sexy girls’ – ‘sexy site:dylanrayburn.com’ (twice? huh?) – ‘pudge rodriguez eats fan’s nacho during game’ – ‘fat baseball players’ (sensing a trend)
Hilarious! I had a great laugh. This is an awesome idea and I should do the same with my blog!
